Rooto in Action: NFT PASS Use Case at Arte Museum

Visiting Arte Museum with Rooto's NFT Pass
Arte Museum is an immersive media art exhibition operated by d’strict, a world-class digital design company based in Korea. Starting in Jeju, d’strict has expanded its exhibitions to cities such as Busan, Gangneung, and Yeosu, attracting over 8.5 million visitors globally. At Arte Museum Busan, the exhibition adopted a blockchain-based PASS system for admission through a collaboration between Upbit NFT and Lambda256’s Rooto solution. This project is a prime example of how NFTs were used not only to stimulate collecting, but also as a means to maximize the experience of every step of the public's journey through the digital exhibit.
PASS: A Cross-Selling Marketing Tool

What is an NFT PASS?
PASS is a feature within the Rooto solution that grants event access, tickets, coupons, and other benefits to users (holders) of specific NFTs. Only users holding the NFT can redeem the benefit, and all records of PASS issuance and usage are securely stored on the blockchain.
Benefits can be redeemed either by scanning a QR code provided by PASS or by staff inputting a password. The QR code is dynamically generated, providing a second layer of protection against forgery or tampering.
Expanding the PASS Use Case
Each PASS is linked to the holder's NFT, enabling the tracking and utilization of user activity. Partners can leverage PASS as a data-driven cross-selling marketing tool. For instance, users who frequently redeem exhibition-related PASSes can be recommended other exhibitions, or provided with special NFTs or additional benefits, enabling CRM and targeted marketing at the same time.
How It Works: Combining ESG, NFT, and PASS

Dunamu, operator of the Upbit NFT marketplace, launched the “Seed Vault” NFT collection to promote biodiversity. As part of this project, they collaborated with Arte Museum—whose exhibition features natural elements like sand, waves, and waterfalls—to present the SEED exhibition hall.

Visitors could receive a free PASS for Arte Museum admission via the Upbit NFT app. Once received, the PASS is securely stored within the app. When visiting the venue, users can activate their PASS to generate a dynamic QR code, which staff scan to verify authenticity. This customer experience is powered by the technology behind Lambda256's Rooto solution.

With the admin provided by Rooto, partners can easily issue PASS, analyze usage, and leverage them for data analytics and CRM. After admission, Rooto's backend system supports NFT distribution to both Seed Vault NFT holders and on-site visitors. Attendees can scan QR codes located throughout the venue or event space to receive exclusive digital collectible NFTs automatically.
Manage Audiences and Maximize Event Impact with NFT-based PASS

Ticket scalping, forgery prevention, CRM, and targeted marketing are all well-known challenges. Yet building a seamless flow for digital ticketing and transforming data into actionable insights remains difficult and resource-intensive, even for experts.
Rooto solves this by enabling anyone—without needing developers—to mint NFTs and issue NFT-based PASSes for event access, ticketing, and vouchers. With PASS, brands can offer engaging experiences, encourage return visits, and boost participation through a simple and secure solution.
